Marking finds the gap. Teaching closes it.

The mark scheme is fixed. What a student needs to improve isn’t. GradeDrive applies the first. You teach the second.

When the mocks came in this June, one school alone put over 12,000 pages of exam scripts through GradeDrive: more than 750 papers, marked by eleven teachers, in a single month. Our own figures.

Watch a real set of papers go get marked, start to finish.

A full walkthrough of marking a real class set: splitting the scripts, applying the mark scheme, and confirming every result.

Four subjects.
Done right.

  • BiologyGCSE and A-Level
  • ChemistryGCSE and A-Level
  • PhysicsGCSE and A-Level
  • MathsGCSE and A-Level

We picked four subjects and perfected them to our standard here at GradeDrive. Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths are where GradeDrive has been tested against real papers and real mark schemes until we trusted it ourselves.

Everything else (English, Psychology, Geography, the rest) stays off until it clears the same bar.

Built for departments.
Open to any teacher.

GradeDrive is the kind of tool a school or a multi-academy trust buys for a department: a shared pool of pages or a per-teacher allocation, a manager who runs it, and a data-protection answer your DPO can read. We also make it available to individual teachers, on the same product, with a free allowance that does not expire. Either way you start the same way: one mark scheme, one class set.

In their words, not ours.

As an AHT, reducing teacher workload without compromising standards is always a priority. GradeDrive has genuinely transformed how our biology department handles mock marking. What used to take an entire weekend now takes a few hours. The AI's understanding of mark scheme language is impressive. It picks up on required terminology and partial credit correctly.

Getting every teacher in my department to mark consistently has always been a challenge. GradeDrive has essentially solved that. Every paper is assessed against the same mark scheme interpretation, so students aren't disadvantaged by which teacher marked their work. Our post-marking moderation time has dropped dramatically.

I teach three A-level groups and marking used to consume my weekends during assessment season. GradeDrive marks a full set of papers in the time it takes me to get through two or three manually. The feedback it generates is specific and references the mark scheme directly, which saves me a lot of annotation time. I genuinely couldn't go back.

I signed up to GradeDrive after it was recommended to me by a colleague, and in all honesty it has impressed me: it's easy to use and easy to collect data. I can upload my scanned files and the programme identifies the names of the students without me having to create the database first, which has saved me lots of time. I'm also impressed with the accuracy of the marking: we even tested it in a department meeting, and there was only a two-mark difference, which is less than what we sometimes had during department moderation. I was easily able to make changes to any mark I didn't agree with. I think the best feature is being able to easily export and print student analysis feedback and give it to my students. It's visually good for my students and their parents.

The founders.

Ismail and Abrar founded GradeDrive together, pairing years of classroom experience with the engineering to build on it. Ismail is still teaching, nine years in, so GradeDrive gets tested against how he marks a real class this week, not a memory of how it used to feel. Abrar leads the engineering, and won’t ship a subject until the marking behind it is genuinely deterministic and fair. The longer version, and why they started, is on the About Us page.
